A dream brought to life by the town’s founder, Jan Černčický of Kácov. Thanks to its unique setting, Nové Město nad Metují offers a natural blend of a historic town centre and a magnificent château, whose gardens are linked by one of Europe’s most beautiful covered wooden bridges. The bridge is the work of architect Dušan Jurkovič, who also designed the Bartoň Lodge in Peklo, at the confluence of the Metuje and Olešenka rivers.
